Job Summary
We are seeking an Office Cleaner to join our team at the Makhado Colliery site. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, tidy, and organized office environment, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene are met. This is a full-time, on-site position, working 9 hours a day, 5 days a week.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain all office areas, including reception, offices, boardrooms, kitchens, and bathrooms
- Ensure all surfaces, furniture, and equipment are clean and dust-free
- Empty trash and recycling bins, and replace liners as needed
- Clean and sanitize high-touch areas, including door handles, switches, and keyboards
- Restock supplies, including toilet paper, soap, and paper towels
- Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies, and report any issues or shortages
- Assist with special projects and tasks as assigned
- Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure a clean and safe working environment
Requirements
- Minimum Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent
- Previous cleaning experience in an office, industrial, or mining environment is an advantage, but not essential
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding cleaning tasks efficiently
- Medical fitness to undertake the duties of the role safely and effectively
- Must be a resident within the jurisdiction of the Makhado Local Municipality
- No criminal records; a clean police clearance certificate is mandatory
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines while maintaining quality standards
