JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Accountant for a fixed‑term position based in Midrand. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing full‑cycle accounting processes, ensuring compliance, and providing high‑quality financial advice to our clients. KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Grade 12 (Matric) with strong academic record.
- Relevant degree or diploma in Accounting (BCom Accounting, BAcc, or equivalent).
- BCom Honours or professional articles are advantageous.
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in accounting, taxation, or related financial roles.
- Proficiency with accounting software and tools such as QuickBooks, Excel (advanced), Xero, and CASEWARE.
- In‑depth knowledge of income tax, VAT submissions, and CIPC regulations.

NECESSARY EXPERIENCE & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Financial Statement Preparation: Compile and prepare accurate financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements) in compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
2. Bookkeeping: Record and maintain all financial transactions (purchases, sales, receipts, payments) in the accounting system with meticulous attention to detail.
3. Tax Compliance: Prepare and file corporate tax returns (Income Tax, VAT, PAYE). Advise clients on tax planning and optimization strategies to ensure full compliance and minimize liabilities.
4. Audit Support: Assist internal and external auditors by providing complete documentation, explanations, and support throughout the audit process.
5. Reconciliations: Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
6. Client Communication: Act as a primary financial liaison with clients – understand their needs, provide tailored financial advice, and address accounting inquiries professionally.
7. Payroll Processing: Manage end‑to‑end payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payment of salaries, benefits, and deductions, and compliance with payroll regulations.
8. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all client financial reporting and practices adhere to South African laws and industry‑specific regulations, including financial reporting standards and taxation requirements.
9. Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance accounting procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy within the team.
10. Team Collaboration: Work closely with auditors, advisors, and senior management to achieve organizational financial goals and deliver exceptional service quality.
