Job Overview
The Wash Bay Attendant / General Labourer will be responsible for ensuring that all earthmoving machinery is properly washed and that the workshop and surrounding areas are kept clean and tidy at all times. This is a hands‑on position that requires physical stamina, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities
- Machinery cleaning: washing and cleaning earthmoving machinery to maintain operational standards.
- Workshop maintenance: assisting with sweeping and general cleaning of the workshop when no machinery is scheduled for washing.
- Area upkeep: ensuring the wash bay and surrounding environments are kept clean, organised, and safe for daily operations.
Requirements for the Position
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- Good physical health and fitness to handle demanding labour tasks.
- Willingness to work with water for extended periods.
- Ability to perform general labour duties efficiently.
- Reliability, hardworking attitude, and the capacity to follow instructions accurately.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar environment.
- National Senior Certificate (advantageous).
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- A team‑player mindset with a positive attitude and ability to work under pressure.
